Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is part of the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University one of the nation's preeminent academic medical centers. The 744-bed hospital also includes the Stone Institute of Psychiatry and Prentice Women's Hospital and Maternity Center. It is the primary teaching hospital for Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and a major midwest referral center. The medical staff represents virtually every specialty and consists of 1,414 physicians who are affiliated with the hospital and carry faculty appointments with the Feinberg School.
