The atmosphere is plush and decadent, with touches of velvet, burgundy and gold. Before 10:30, Le Passage offers bistro fare in the French colonial setting; after 10:30, the music is turned up, tables turned away, and the line soon forms out the door. The velvet rope can be formidable; dress to impress, as this is a crowd for people watching (and watchers). One of Chicago’s hot spots, the dance party continues to 5:00 am on weekends, attracting a trendy, “beautiful people” set.
