In the mid sixties, the Arie Crown was home to the biggest names in popular music: Simon & Garfunkle, Bob Dylan, Lovin’ Spoonful, Ravi Shankar, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. A 1967 fire shut it down after a Herb Alpert concert. For years Alpert was teased about having "the hottest horn in town." The venue's home, McCormick Place, (the country’s top choice for conventions and trade shows) didn’t reopen till 1971. The Arie Crown underwent a $6 million renovation to lower the ceiling and bring in the walls, which improved the lighting and sound tremendously. It is still Chicago’s largest stage, consistently delivering a sizzling line-up of stars including Whitney Houston, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, and Smokey Robinson.

The Largest Stage in Chicago. Absolutely great sound and lighting. It offers all of the big entertainers a fairly intimate setting (about 4,300 seats; for smaller shows part of the theatre is closed off to maintain the intimacy).

Parking is easy and it's close to Chinatown for a great dinner before or after the show.
