General Info
The Second City has launched the careers of greats such as Gilda Radner, Mike Myers, Bill Murray, Alan Alda, John Candy, Chris Farley, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. The list of celebrated alums is too lengthy to list.
The theater has two stages, The Second City Mainstage and The Second City e.t.c. Each Theater has a resident troupe that writes and performs original comedy revues. The highly original shows are funny, smart and very current. They can be political in nature and a commentary on today’s society.
The Second City's comedic genius spawned the best of Saturday Night Live cast and has added theaters in Toronto, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York, making Chicago the First City of Comedy.
Tickets may be purchased online or by phone. It is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before show time. Please call ahead for any special seating needs.
