Grand Lux Café opened in 2002 and offers a menu that includes: buffalo chicken rolls, Chicken Venetian, Maderia Chicken, braised pot roast and, of course, cheesecake. Though Grand Lux offers the Cheesecake Factory's eight most popular varieties, there's a bevy of other options including molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip pecan cookies.
And that's only the beginning; it also serves up such global dishes as Vietnamese summer rolls, wiener schnitzel and Yankee pot roast. The restaurant has a retail bakery shop and sells its tasty salad dressing by the pint so you can take the goodness home.
Grand Lux Café sits above Michigan Avenue's Ann Taylor Store and offers a surprising respite from the busy streets below. A spacious bar and seating for 550 allows breathing room for hungry diners. Decorated in the opulent style similar to that of the Cheesecake Factory, Grand Lux is outfitted with multi-colored leather and velvet banquettes, marble tables and floors, hand-blown glass fixtures, intricate mosaics and high ceilings.
Dining options seem limitless. The drink options are endless but some popular favorites include the Grand Lux margarita and mojitos. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
