Green Dolphin Street’s contemporary and eclectic menu, the music, the romantic outdoor seating (weather permitting) and dancing provides a place one can easily make a night of. The large room has enough space for large bands, which vary from R&B to jazz to Latin.

Entering the steel clad doors of this former junkyard and auto repair shop unveils a hidden treasure. An updated take on the retro ballrooms of the past Green Dolphin Street reveals itself room by room. Green Dolphin Street features a beautiful dining area bathed in a green hue and adorned with classic jazz photos from Bauhaus alum Hans Rudi Hug.

 

What was once the junkyard portion of this facility has been transformed into one of the most unique outdoor dining facilities in the Chicago area. An entire acre of outdoor dining and beautifully landscaped gardens located on the Chicago river. Boats docking on the 200 foot boat dock and people enjoying great food and lively music make Green Dolphin Street a true Chicago original

 

At Green Dolphin Street, one can dine, listen to music, dance or have a romantic evening. You can choose any one of these things or all of them. It has a huge, dramatic and well-stocked bar. The menu is contemporary and innovative offering foie gras, seafood and beef. It’s unusual to find a high quality restaurant with a musical venue, but Green Dolphin Street has made that possible.

After dinner cocktails are the fare in the front lounge. A beautiful mahogany bar with leather banquets and unique metal detailing make this a great room for people watching. As the night progresses the jazz venue is opened off the lounge bar. 24 foot ceilings and a 40 foot mahogany bar make this Chicago's largest jazz venue. The new "crown jewel of jazz clubs" according to the Chicago magazine.
