General Info
The interior is swathed in muted colors, the only real flair being curlicue chandeliers whose shape is mimicked by the textured whorls in the curtains. Whatever charm the color palette lacks, the hosts more than make up for. Impeccably dressed in Armani, they saunter up to tables and, brandishing a smile, crack a joke or two.
The menu offers a wide selection of traditional Indian fare, including vindaloo, tandoori, curries and naan.
A few words to know:
  • Achar: A pickled condiment used to perk up dishes such as lentils (daal)
  • Chola: This is simply chickpeas, they can be prepared as a curry for a main dish or over basmati rice.
  • Curry:  A rich spiced variety of sauces used in a stew-like meat and vegetable dishes
  • Naan:  Pita like bread best used when very fresh and prepared in a tandoor oven until it is the perfect combination of chewy in the middle and slightly crisp on the edges.
  • Panner: A non-melting white cheese that is pressed and cut into cubes. You'll fine this most often in curry dishes with vegetables such as peas or spinach.
  • Fennel Seeds: Chew a teaspoon of these after dinner refreshers for fresher breath and digestive benefits
