Ike Sewell is the man credited with inventing Chicago’s deep dish pizza, sold at Pizzeria Uno, now a Mecca for pizza lovers. Ike’s pie became so famous he opened Pizzeria Due just across the street so there would be two places to eat the world’s best and original deep dish pizza. Today, this place is as busy and popular as her older sister, and you’ll love her just as much.

This hot location in an old Victorian mansion not only attracts the Michigan Avenue crowds but also draws suburbanites who drive in just to eat there. Of course it has that cozy classic dark wood pizza place feel, but the smell of spices in the air separates it from most. The service is quick and attentive and you can even bring home your own frozen pizza if you don’t have time to sit down and dig in.

We recommend any and all versions of the famous Chicago deep dish pizza. Grab a large for $19.99 and dig in with family or friends. It’s made with spinach, broccoli, an assortment of rich cheeses, with garlic and tomato sauce. Can you say yum?

Start your meal with a popular bowl of Florence’s Soup. This well-known minestrone with cheese is $3.99 and as far as minestrone goes, it gets an A-plus. If you want something light yet good, try the capellini pasta. It costs $6.99 and is made with angel hair spaghetti and their vegetarian marinara sauce. Conclude your eating experience here with a dessert from a list of $4.00 to $5.00 items, including spumoni ice cream, Chicago cheesecake, or a deep dish sundae.
