In the summer of 2005, Blue Water Grill made a splash as the Chicago outpost of one of New York’s most high-profile seafood destinations. It’s sleek style - dramatic lighting, sculpted steel, mosaic accents - sets the scene for one of Chicago Magazine’s recently named "Ten Hip Places."

Blue Water Grill is a seafood connoisseur’s dream, featuring a raw bar, sushi selections, as well as more traditional seafood dishes. You may choose to begin your meal with six different options of oysters on the half shell, or enjoy one of Blue Water Grill’s specialty, maki rolls. Blue Water Grill features unique rolls such as their crispy Cajun lobster, rolled with grapefruit, avocado, green curry mayo, and lime ice or their miso teriyaki filet roll, served with pineapple. They also serve a number of sushi combination platters to share amongst friends, family, or business clients.

Their entrées are equally dynamic, serving creative side dishes designed to enhance the flavors of some of the freshest fish Chicago has to offer. For example, the herb crusted steamed Chilean sea bass is paired with rock shrimp and sun-dried tomato ravioli along with pepper-pistachio chutney. Blue Water Grill also includes classic non-seafood combinations on their menu, with steak, chicken, and lamb dishes available.

As a perfect compliment to the sophisticated cuisine and setting, Blue Water Grill  features a second floor jazz bar, with live music Tuesday through Saturday evenings accompanied by a wide selection of sakes.

Located in the former Spago space, Blue Water Grill continues the tradition of chic, cosmopolitan downtown dining. Executive Chef Mark Chmielewski has created a imaginative yet sophisticated menu featuring a wide variety of seafood and sushi options (including caviar). The sleek, modern setting complements the cuisine.
