The Saloon opened  in 1966 in a dim-lit basement on West Diversey Parkway in Chicago. Two years later the logo was developed via there way of life, which pictured the sun rising over the horizon of Lake Michigan lets say about 5:00 am on any given Sunday morning and you're walking out of a basement. The face of the logo could be could be mine, yours or anybody else who might have spent the prior evening imbibing in there underground environment. We have all made it home to look in the mirror and saw the blood shot eyes at half mast as we placed a cool ice pack on top of our cranial area.
